Product Review: Diva Essential - Dayla Fluidline Eyeliner Gel

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

Product: Dayla Fluidline Eyeliner Gel
Available at: Angelique Beaute
Price: RM65 RM38

Helo! Helo! Welcome back to another episode of the Datin Diva Essential Series! This has got to be on the list of both DATINs and DIVAs long list of must-haves. Datins need it for the glam look, Divas need it for the killer chick look! =D

Not too long ago, I reviewed the Water Proof Dayla Designing Eyeliner Pencil with super staying power. Have any of you tried it? Would love to hear your feedback about it :)

For this review, the Dayla Fluidline Eyeliner Gel (I shall call this pot-liner) is another form of eyeliner under the Dayla brand which I have tried. Many don't get it why is there a need to have different types of liner, pencil, liquid, pot. It's because we girls have different mood and expression and theme to match our outfit every time we step out of the house! ;)

Spot the Dayla packaging =D

The jar comes enclosed in a paper box as shown above. Like any other pot-liner, a brush is also included. The bristles are very soft, to which some of you may have doubt if you can create a thin line out of that brush. You simply need to dip more of the gel base liner till it covers all the bristles and slowly tilt the brush when drawing. It's a bit hard to explain in writing, hence you got to try it to be good at it. ;)

It consists of a pot of gel liner and a brush

The concentrated pigment

I am a hardcore fan of liquid liner (regardless of the thickness of the brush) because it allows me to draw from a fine line and later add in the intensity by drawing more until it gets to my desired thickness. Of course, if you have a fine liquid liner, most probably it will take you, if not ages, at least 9 to 12 strokes to get the below thickness =D In such situation, it is always best to turn to that pot of gel liner with a bigger brush =D

Datin Cynthia Lee ;)

For those who have tried the Dayla Designing Eyeliner Pencil before, I am sure you are aware that the pencil is rather smooth and glides easily. So is this Fluidline Gel Liner! It is amazingly moist despite having bought it for more than 2 months and used rarely. I had some other off-the-shelf eyeliner in jar which I opened and used rarely too and have now turned to a big rock of black coal. The context of moist here refers to how soft is the gel substance when dipping the brush in (not moisturising effect =D).

It is super easy to tread the brush when lining due to the moist gel. If you angle it's tip with the thinnest edge facing the area to line and draw on confidently, you will get a reasonably thin line effect like when using a liquid liner too ;)

It can be as thin as this. You only need to practise!

When the time comes to camwhoring, what better to intensify your camwhore session than a bigger stroke of eye liner =P Because it easily glides on, drawing is super easy too! I particularly love the fact that the Dayla Fluidline is so fluid it allows layers after layers to get the thickness I desire.

For the first 30 seconds after application, if you are skillfully confident, you can attempt to do some smokey effect by smudging it :) I would advise that, to do such process, it's always best to have your eye primed with eye primer or have a layer of eye shadow first, to allow the liner to set onto the primer or blend in with the eye shadow.

I like it this thick sometimes, and comes with lizard foot steps =P

The various lines that you can achieve with the Dayla Fluidline Gel Liner

For those who are used to using gel liner in a jar, I would recommend that you give this a try too! And perhaps later share with me on more ways to line the eyes ;)

Head on to AngelicBeaute to check out the range of Dayla make up that they have brought in. You can immediately check out the Dayla Fluidline HERE which is currently on promotion at RM38 a set (from RM65).

As much as I advocate natural beauty and that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, it won't hurt to have the basics of BB cream, blusher, mascara and eyeliner of course as your daily regime to perk up your daily do! ;)

Happy making-up! (hmm.. this doesn't sound right!)

Voila! Datin Cynthia!

Happy Shopping!
