Product Review: Cami Secret

Have you heard about the latest secret in town, brought to us by Supermodel's Secrets e-shop?

If you've gotten hold of it, then you'd know that this secret:

1. Protects you from obscene stares
2. Brings you from day to night/ night to day
3. Prevents nagging from conservative parents
4. "Layers" your clothing without actually adding any bulk!

THE Cami Secret, also known as a 'clip-on camisole', is designed for those low cut tops/ dresses that simply must be worn as it is and cannot be worn with a tube 'cause tube tops tend to stick out at ugly areas around the bust as well as the back.

Hence the dilemma of impulsive purchasing low cut clothing then resorting to resell it because "I have no occasion to wear this!" or "Too sexy for me!" and not to mention all the nagging that goes on from the elder generation. I've been through this argument one too many times with my mum/ grandma, and trust me, it's really frustrating! But Supermodel's Secrets came to the rescue once again with this revolutionary Cami Secret.

Upon opening your parcel when it arrives, you'll see these strange looking cloth pieces with a clip on each side. Warning: you may feel a tad bit disappointed that the Cami Secret looks so simple, unoffensive and unassuming, at least I did! Haha. But it doesn't matter how it looks, it fulfills its functions and it fulfills them well.

How to wear the Cami Secret? Just clip it on to both sides of your bra straps. :)

A little strange and takes some getting used to since we're so used to the tube top giving full coverage; but that's how it would look after clipping both sides on.

Another awesome feature is that you can adjust the level of coverage you want by moving the clips further up or lower down the straps ;) In the official picture, it shows low coverage but I couldn't manage to achieve that effect even after I tugged down the clips as low as I could. So if you're looking for medium/ high coverage, then the Cami Secret is ideal :)

Cami Secret is also really versatile in terms of wearing, since it comes in three basic and very matchable colors: black, white, beige ; AND you can match it with so many clothing items. My personal philosophy for smart shopping? If you can match something with any 3 items in your wardrobe, buy it! :D Products like Cami Secret definitely can be paired with more than 3 items, so there, you have my permission to stock up! Haha.

Cami Secret paired with a vest, and you can wear it with so much more! Definitely comes into handy especially when tube tops are not an option. Even bra tops that come with a tube attached are less versatile since they have thick straps. ;)

Still, note that Cami Secret is best worn with clothing which are tight fitting, at least around the bust area, because you definitely don't want it to flap under loose clothes. For better security purposes, Michelle from Supermodel Secrets recommended that petite girls may try to tuck the loose ends under your bra after you have clipped it on.

With Cami Secret, you don't have to head out feeling bulky and hot, and you don't even have to worry if your buttons pop! ;)

Product Review: Hershey’s Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Lip Balm

A wise and fabulous gay man once said, “If something’s gonna be under your nose, it better smell good!” And I strongly agree with that! That’s why I LOVE lip balms! They keep your lips feeling soft, lush, moisturised and perfect to be kissed by the gorgeous Thor, God of Thunder.

Another person once said, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” While not all of us are blessed with the ability to cook, the next best thing you can do is generously apply a layer of delicious tasting lip balm and kiss that poor sod out of his mind. Scientific research says that people who take a whiff of a sweet scent such as chocolate usually come back for more. And that’s where this lip balm comes in!

Things to take note of.

Do not place it near children. And while this balm truly smells like the real thing, it is not to be eaten, so though you are hungry, do your very best to resist the urge to take a bite out of this balm. It is so wonderfully scented that I had to stop myself from taking a nice chunk out of it.

Size comparison!

This balm does not lie when it says it is MEGA! It’s practically 3 times the size of regular lip balms! Due to it’s mega large size, I find that the best way to apply this balm is with your lips closed and pressed together, and just glide the whole balm across both your lips. Totally saves time! Unless you’ve got some kinda Angelina Jolie lips of course, then you’ll be needing two of these just to get all the lips moisturised.

Texture wise, I would say that this balm isn’t quite as moisturising as I am used to. I personally like very much for my lip balms to leave a nice smooth layer of moisturised goodness on my lips.

It does not leave a sheen of gloss on your lips, so if you’re one of those who prefer to keep your lips looking matte, this will be the balm for you. Not to mention, when you’re cozying up with a Thor, God of Thunder look-alike you don’t want him wondering what is that glossy thing he is tasting. Instead, all you want him to taste it the absolutely sweet and sinful flavour of Hershey’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!

Scent wise, I would say it really does smell like the actual thing and when you lick your lips you are able to taste a sweetish flavour. Absolutely perfect for all chocolate lovers out there!
All in all, if you’re looking for a basic balm with a rich chocolatey flavour, this is the balm for you. If you love the scent but find it not quite as moisturising as you’re used to, apply a layer of your normal lip balm and coat it over with this. You’ll get the moisturising effect of your preferred balm and the chocolatey scent of this balm!

Product Review: LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask

If you're like me, you'd also be one of those who cannot get enough of self-pampering and beautifying sessions. Manicures, pedicures, facials, hair treatments, massages - you name it. Only thing is, all these usually come with a price. But hey, we shouldn't be blamed, since we girls obviously want to look as good as we can! Besides, it's not like the guys don't enjoy the indirect benefits as well. ;)

Since I'm usually in an air-conditioned environment, my skin sometimes feels really dehydrated and I guess the condition was so bad that when I went for a pedicure + paraffin foot treatment, the pedicurist complained that my feet looked 10 years older than I really was *throws tantrum* Anyway so I decided, I gotta take care of my feet no matter the cost. I considered going for foot treatments monthly but before I made the costly decision - Supermodel's Secrets E- Store came to my rescue with the LUS Korea Hand and Foot Mask! :D

My take on the products:

I'm not a person who likes to wears socks/ covered toe shoes so wrapping up my feet this way was rather uncomfortable for a while since it felt somewhat like wearing wet socks but what is slight discomfort to beauty? ;) After removing the masks, I wasn't sure whether to massage the rest of the essence into my skin or to wash off. I tried massaging it in but it was rather sticky so I decided to wash my hands and apply hand/foot cream after that. I think washing + cream is the better choice. My skin did feel softer after that and was obviously more moisturized. I'm guessing the wine extract may be the secret ingredient. All in all, I was quite impressed with the masks, so will definitely be using them regularly ;)

Tip:

Put on the foot mask before the hand mask, otherwise you'll have to wait for you to be done with the hand mask before you can do the foot mask. Silly me made that mistake and prolonged the whole process by over 30 minutes, haha.

After some indulgence, splash on some color
and you're ready to head out to take on the world! ;)

Product Review: Carmex Mint Click Stick

Hello shoppers!

At this moment right now, I really am feeling quite low. *sighs*

Remember when I reviewed the Carmex Moisture Plus and Hershey's chocolate lip balm? When I received the chocolate lip balm, I received the Carmex Mint Click Stick along with it. So what's there to be upset about? I have three awesome lip balms for me to use alternatively, and I always carry them out together so that keeps my lips moisturized all the time. I enjoyed that luxury for some time. But a few days back, I realized I've misplaced ALL OF THEM. Yup, all of them, because I keep all of them together in the same place ;( I'm still trying to find them, so I'm calling this incident The Case of The Missing Lip Balms.

But luckily, for the sake of the review, I'd taken pictures before the lip balms went missing. In my still depressed state, I shall spare you the agony of looking at my camwhore pictures and just post one up ;)

Carmex Mint Click Stick

My opinion? I love the Mint Click Stick even more than the Moisture Plus. No, it's not that I change my feelings towards something so quickly, but this one is really quite different and let me tell you why I love it. :)

1. 100% natural peppermint oil/ flavor
2. Smells like mint, tastes like mint and leaves a cool tingle on lips. I was joking with my boyfriend that this could replace breath mints if someone were really desperate, haha!
3. SPF30 - It has protective agents that act as sunscreens (Octinoxate and Oxybenzone)
4. Moisturizing, prevents dry lips, soothing. I only reapply this after at least one hour.
5. This is a bonus point! Haha. The lip balm contains germ killing menthol and phenol, which makes it perfect for people who are more OCD than others, like me. (sorry for the use of terminology, I study psychology so we use OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder - as a verb or adjective sometimes) :D

So back to my lip balm sob story, I was just saying to my boyfriend that maybe someone took all of my lip balms away 'cause they were just jealous that my lip balms were so awesome. He insists no one would do that; hmm, maybe he's the one who took them right! Anyway, there's nothing that time and retail therapy cannot heal. No prizes for guessing which place I'd head to first for retail therapy - Supermodel's Secrets of course! I really need another mint click stick if I really don't manage to find any of my lip balms back ;(

I'll keep you updated on The Case of the Missing Lip Balms if i find them, but in the meantime, see you at Supermodel's Secrets!

*five days after posting this up, I've found my lip balm stash! It was in a pencil case, together with medications for my tummy.

Hi shopping kaki! :) Guess what? I got myself a happy stick!

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm!

The difference is obvious, yes? I know it is obvious because my boyfriend managed to guess all correctly when he doesn't usually notice things like that, lol.

This little stick is a gem compared to other lip balms I've tried. I've read so many good reviews about Carmex, and the only drawback for me to purchase it was its price since there are other drug store brands I could get for less than RM20. :/ But you know what? Since trying Carmex, it's goodbye to the other lip balms I have, and let me tell you why!

• It's not greasy! not sticky! - the greasiness and oiliness are my number one dislike when it comes to lip balms and glosses, so the ones I own all fail when compared to this one! :/
• Upon application, there's a soft vanilla scent, which is sweet but not too overpowering. When I apply anything to my lips, I usually lick them off within minutes because I get so uncomfortable.
• This time around, there was a slight minty, cool sensation when I applied it and this cool feeling lasted for awhile before it slowly faded away.
• Not to mention it glides on smoothly on my lips even though they were dry.
• and did I mention it's not greasy? so awesome!

Above is a picture I took of the real product :) That's the full size of the lip balm, just in case you were wondering how long it could last you.

Note: I'm really not sure how long it will last, since I've never actually finished one tube of lip balm before... I usually lose them or just stop using them, haha.

And to conclude, I am now, proudly, a Carmex Convert! :)

Do your lips a favor, and get your very own Carmex at Supermodel Secrets, for only RM32. If you consider the awesomeness of the lip balm and that you cannot get this anywhere else in Malaysia, this really is worth it ;)

Product Review: Diva Essential - My Lash

If you are not the follower of the latest trends and technology in the world of vanity, worry not because Datin Diva is here! If you've heard countless horror stories about eyelash glue - what if they rip my eyelashes out? what if it gets into my eye and blinds me? - Koji Eyelash Fix is available online to bat those eyelash woes away! :)

Available in both black and clear gel form, but we thought we would review the black

because most false-eyelash-users have tried clear ones before.

To be frank, the only glue/paste/adhesive that I have ever used before are those that come free with the lashes. Yup, those white craft-glue lookalike type that takes either forever to dry or dries without you even realising it.

Free & not-so-good ones VS. top of the line Koji Fix! :D

What does it do?

• Well, it helps you stick on your false eyelashes of course ;)
• I would recommend to use this if you wear black eyeliner religiously. Saves you a lot of hassle of trying to touch up.

If you are impatient like me and decides to slap the falsies on after a nano-second of waiting for it to dry, the likes of smearing is high ;) (note the stain on the outer corner of the eye) You can always touch up with eyeliner which would then adds more intensity to it =D

Sha-Lene (YSK) prefers to use the tip of a cotton bud to clean up any smearing, with a dab of make-up remover on the tip if necessary.

What I like about it?

• The black gel is smooth and does not appear gooey like craft glue.
• It's like liquid eyeliner when wet and feels slightly rubberish when dry.
• As it is in liquid base, you may have to be careful and not simply squirt a big amount, like I do and smeared all over the lashes =P
• Note that if you buy the CLEAR one instead of the BLACK one, then squirting too much is not noticeable as it is invisible when dry =D
• It is also pretty easy to remove and does not cling on (like a crying baby who clings on to the mommy's leg when mommy refused to buy the toy car for him)

• I am a fan of pool-purchase - tag along some other friends and compile a bigger lump of stuffs to purchase.
• By doing so you get a better bargain and get to share the cost of postage too! ;)
