If there's anything Your Shopping Kaki goes really 100% bonkers for, it's got to be maxi dresses! We love them so much, we even declared every year on 7th January as Maxi Dress Day! :D We're hoping to get it turned into a national public holiday if enough people participate :P Hehe!

On that note, today's product review is on the popular tube maxi dress
that's taken the maxi dress market by storm recently! :D

I knew the popularity of this particular maxi dress meant a lot of YSK readers was probably interested in the dress, but didn't dare to buy it because:

1) The picture on the mannequin: is it an actual photo of the real thing?
2) What if the material is horrible, or the quality is poor?

As Your Shopping Kaki, of course I can understand why you would have those fears - I did too! I mean, RM59 is quite a bit of moolah to risk, right? So here we are again, with another product review to alleviate your fears - we've tried and tested this product for you! :D

I decided to get a black maxi dress because I didn't have one in this colour, and I figured that if it was sheer, at least it was black. :D But I must say, the maxi dress exceeded all my expectations! :D :D :D

Why You Will Love It:
The material was heavy, soft and smooth - good quality polyester elasthane that gives really good shape without being too clingy. It was so cooling that I wanted to roll around in the dress all day! It's not shiny, so you can definitely pull it off as a day/casual look or a night-time look - versatility guaranteed. It's really, really, really beautiful. And because it was black, it wasn't sheer. Also, it fits a huge range of sizes: from the UK6 mannequin to the UK18 me! :) It also comes in a plus-size version, which is designed to fit larger sizes - but the one I have is the regular-cut one. Please check with Lollysta on which one you should get! :)

Minor Issues To Note:
It's deliciously uber long, which is great for taller girls! If you're tired of maxi dresses hanging above your ankles, this is the solution for you. However, I'm 168cm (5'6") and it's a little too long for me (with heels), so I'm getting it altered an inch shorter :) But hey, it's always better that the dress is too long rather than too short! :P Because you can make a dress shorter, but you can't make it longer. Another plus point is that these tube maxi dresses are plain and not patterned, which means shortening it won't disrupt any design :D

The Price Tag Is Totally Worth It:
The quality and gorgeous-ness of this tube maxi dress is really, really value for money. The material itself is just so nice. I'm usually all for cotton maxi dresses, but this is one of those rare non-cotton ones that I really like. :D Also, just compare the prices in Dorothy Perkins and ASOS for tube maxi dresses! :)

Verdict: Buy, Buy, Buy! :D

I literally have no complaints about this maxi dress :) The only points to consider is whether or not the other colours are sheer (especially white). I don't have the answer, so you'll have to ask Lollysta :D The owner of the blogshop's name is Ayu - a really, really nice and friendly lady - and it's worth getting to know her, because Lollysta is such a maxi dress wonderland, people! :)
