Love, Bonito Launch + Fashion Show!

Isn't it strange how things kinda come together randomly, all at once? :)

I was invited by Cynthia (guest blogger on YSK & in charge of most things!) to attend Harith Iskander's 'To Know Malaysia is to Laugh Malaysia!' launch event on a fine Saturday afternoon, only to meet with Joyce (Kinky Blue Fairy) for the very first time & to be invited to the launch of Love, Bonito's store in Publika which she emceed for! :)

A little about Love, Bonito. 

They're the pioneering online fashion retail label in Singapore. Driven by a shared passion to empower women through style, Love, Bonito has earned a reputation for expertly striking a balance between style and affordability. Having emerged onto Singapore’s online fashion retail scene in 2006 as a humble blog shop, Love, Bonito has since been showered with accolades of awards ranging from “Best Blog Shop” at the Asia Pacific Blog Awards in 2009, to the coveted SME Asia Award 2013/2014 awarded by The Asian Business Journal and The Trade and Industry Association.

Now those are quite a bunch of hefty achievements aren't they!

In conjunction with the launch of their store in Publika, Love, Bonito also took to opportunity to create a capsule collection with the ever popular blogger, Cheesie of Cheeserland!

This fashion show is a special treat for all us Malaysians, as all of Cheesie's 8 delightful Autumn pieces will be debuted in their pop-up store in Publika before being officially launched on the Love, Bonito website! We've also been informed that once a design is sold out, they will not be remaking it anymore so you can be assured that you'll be one of the lucky few who managed to snag that piece! 

Two of my favourite looks from Cheesie x Love, Bonito collection! I love the monochromatic tropical inspired prints! They work perfectly with Fall & doesn't help that I am going through a totally monochromatic phase. ;)

A gorgeous side split chiffon dress with a half back cut out! This dress is moving FAST both on Love, Bonito's website and their retail space. Four people in a wedding have been spotted in this dress in various shades! :O

It is an amazing & wonderful story of how a small Singaporean blog shop managed to grow into such a huge fashion label!

Harith Iskander: To Know Malaysia is to Laugh Malaysia!

What with the recent tragedies that have been hitting Malaysia hard this year, we realise that as a nation we need to stick together and be strong together. Which is exactly what the Godfather of Stand-Up Comedy in Malaysia, Harith Iskander is trying to do! In the aim to thoroughly spread the '1Malaysia' spirit, Harith is working hard with 2 astounding stand-up comedians this month to bring together all Malaysians by uniting them with a single, simple show... of laughter!

The upcoming show which will be held at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil is aptly titled 'Harith Iskander: To Know Malaysia is to Laugh Malaysia!'. 

This amazing show promises to be the biggest night of stand-up comedy in Malaysia! A show that will feature an amazing range of stand-up comedians both locally & internationally! Harith promises to deliver a range of carefully crafted, punny, brand spanking new material on the faithful 29th of Oct to throw the audience off their seats in laughter!

“Synonymous to the government’s effort of promoting brotherhood and camaraderie amongst fellow Malaysians, my vision for Malaysians is to come together for one night under one roof to display the strength of who we are and what we stand for as Malaysians - Unity, Moderation and Oneness. It’s time for Malaysians to turn DISTRESS into DE-stress,” says Harith.

On Saturday, 11th of October 2014, we were graciously invited by Harith's team to have a chilled out, Q&A session at the cool No.11 Espressolab in Sunway Damansara to find out more about their upcoming comedic concert!

The Espressolab space is a lovely spacious warehouse with high ceilings and you'll definitely be getting your caffeine fix there! 

Harith Iskander together with Dr. Jason Leong (the opening act for 'To Know Malaysia is to Laugh Malaysia!' were there to knock our socks off with their witty one-liners and hilarious anecdotes!  

Like umm, can I look anymore awkward standing there.

Joining in the effort of uniting Malaysians through laughter are also big hearted Malaysian corporations that have stepped up to support this event under the LAUGH MALAYSIA Umbrella namely Celcom First, Sime Darby Foundation, Seremban 2, MTT Priority and Pemandu.

To make the show even more meaningful, percentage of profits from ticket sales will be channelled to OrphanCARE, a charitable NGO that strives to place abandoned children in homes with loving families.

Because I just enjoy capturing them doing awkward hand gestures. :D

Jointly produced by Harith Iskander V Day Productions & AMC Live Group, in partnership with Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, ‘Laugh Malaysia’ promises a night of rip-roaring laughter to its audience. ‘To know Malaysia is to LAUGH MALAYSIA’ will also feature one of the best of the new crop of Malaysian comedian’s, Dr Jason Leong, as well as special guest Papa CJ – one of India’s most influential comedians.

It was a thoroughly entertaining event with delicious food from Burger Junkyard & divine coffee graciously provided by Espressolab. :)

We left the place with a full tummy and a fantastic show to look out for at the end of this month! It's gonna be HUGE! 

What better way to spend your hump day by having a good hearty laugh at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil with three fantastic comics and all for a good cause! Come together with all your fellow Malaysians on the 29th of October to chill out, hang out & be tickled silly!

Can you just imagine what a joyous sound it would be to hear a stadium filled to the brim with 9000 Malaysians getting together and laughing out loud! Truly the best way to get to know each other better is by laughing & never taking each other too seriously. :)
