13 Wishes for a Better Year!

by Cynthia Lee

Hello ghouls! You must be wondering why do I keep having these post on those scary lil monsters YourShoppingKaki every now and then. Because it is to me a part of my fashion statement! LOL! I am not 100% deeply addicted yet, as I do not own every piece of 'em. But I know a good one worth owning when I spot one. I love 'em so much and actually do have them everywhere -at work, in my car and sometimes, randomly in my bag haha!
Let me again introduce to you more of these pretty lil monster!

Attended one of the event organised by Mattel and Toys' R Us a couple of month back and boy, there was so much fans from small kids to adults (me).

There's some live 'monsters' too!

You get to snap some pictures with these monsters in this human sized Monster High packaging

During the event, there was this display area that showcases the recent collection from Monster High that got me all wobbly and teeth-clenching!
The Monster High 13 Wishes dolls range is uber cool!!

13 Wishes Dolls Assortment to drool for!
L-R : Howleen Wolf, Twyla, Gigi Grant and Lagoona Blue

Gigi Grant and Twyla is two new dolls introduced under this collection. Gigi is the daughter of the Genie, and so she must grant the wishes of her finder – whether good or bad! Daughter of the Boogie man, Twyla is not what she seems. Often shy and misunderstood, she hides under normies beds to capture their nightmares.

Besides these core dolls under the 13 Wishes Collection, there's also 3 screamingly hot doll with almost couture-like dresses that you just cannot miss. The 13 Wishes Haunt the Casbah features Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf and Frankestein. These dolls adorns the most of accessories and they look so 'atas'!

L-R : draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf and Frankie Stein here to captivate!

So, I can't possibly leave the venue empty handed. They are just too pretty to be ignored. I liked Lagoona's yellow hair against her blue complexion. It's so not mainstream and I like! Twyla is so mysterious with her ombre hair against her pale skin. This time round Howleen isn't my choice as she is too street-wear based. I end up with Gigi Grant as I wanted something that really reflects 13 Wishes and the genie-inspired fusion. Lagoona is too 'aqua' in this scenario =P

Upclose of Twyla and Lagoona Blue

So I came home with these!

Blogged about the Ghouls Alive HERE and my 13 Wishes haul ;)

Don't underestimate these dolls. They are so detail in make from makeup to their costumes and dresses and shoes of course!

Don't you just love the intricacy of these heels?

Gigi Grant have so much hair  and all neatly bundled up in her genie hairstyle. I am going to untie it soon and re-style it when I have the time. She is wearing a genie like attire and carrying a lamp, the exact envision I had of what 13 Wishes is meant to be ;)

Close up of Gigi Grant. Check out those tattoo on her neck!

Here's another close up of my Clawdeen in her awesome glitterati makeover! It took me more than 45 minutes in squats, half squats, sitting and suatting at the display shelf choosing for the best looking one. Sometimes there are some imperfection like the eye shadow being slightly out of place or the hair becomes messy due to it being trans[ported all the way from overseas. So yeah, you just need to pick one that is most 'connected' to you.

Rows and rows of them!

The new addition to my collection!

The 13 Wishes core dolls are priced at RM79.90 each and comes with doll stand, comb and their respective accessories.
The Haunt the Casbah dolls are priced at RM89.90 each and comes with the doll stand, comb and their respective accessories.
Another great produce of Mattel!
You can get them in any Toys' R Us store and major AEON stores. It gets more excited during sales period as sometimes they can be on sales ;)

Shamelessly admitting, I am a FAN!!!

Of Unicorns and Making a Statement

by Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

The world of fashion is amazing.
It's such a creative platform for the soul to be inspired with lots of  cute things that you can never imagined can be used as part of a fashion inspiration.
And I am a sucker for all cute and quirky fashion accessories despite not always showing them off ;) Remember my earlier review of the kitty clutch from Misze Fashion
Such glorious idea to be clutching a kitty as part of a fashion statement rite?

And now, there's unicorns! The prettiest living adorned with all the pretty things a girl can ever imagined XD

These unicorn clutch form House of Muse is so adorably cool I tell you!
It comes in 3 cool colors ; black, gold and silver.
I have picked a silver one for that glitter when carrying it =D

The compartment is not that big if you are expecting to store your purse, iPhone, keys and lip gloss in it.
It's more of a fashion statement than a proper storage clutch. But for the sake of making a statement, I guess we can forgo the usage part rite? >.<
The most you can store would be some loose change and stack of notes and a car key. If you have a Samsung Mini S4, or HTC One Mini or all those mini sized phones, then it could probably fit in after your stash of cash :)

size in comparison to a UK14 ;)

close up

my gladiator gold chained 'wrap-let' goes well with the silver unicorn =P

If silver is not your color, you can always go for the black unicorn which is equally uber cool. But as I wear too much black, I wanted something that will shine out from the attire hehe.

the actual size for reference

House of Muse seriously does houses a lot of amusing and uber cool fashion accesories. Here's some which I find interesting and would so love to have ;)

Pretty Lil X'mas Surprise by TinyPinc

By Cynthia Lee ( Guest Blogger)

This is going to be something fun for those of you who always have this lil' desire in your heart to be artsy but am not able to translate that creativity out to good use.
Welcome to the world of decoden!! 'Deco' - being the short for decor, as in decorating and 'den', extracted from the Japanese word of 'den-wa', easily refers to the art of decorating the phone with lots of blings and cutesy stuff normally. These decodents consist of lots of embellishments which are normally handmade. But of course, when there is a demand, that's when China will mass produce these lil' embelishment for those who do not know how to make their own =D

Decoden nowadays is just not confined to phone casing. It can be done on nails and other decorative products such as jars, picture frames or even costume jewelleries.

While you fancy looking at an already decorated piece of work, what about giving it a try on your own?
Pour that creative juice of yours with the DIY Decoden Set by TinyPinc!

The stash of decoden embellishments to kickstart the DIY activity!

I choose my decoden set based on Sweet Pastry theme haha! After all, most decodens are sweet and pretty! I wanted a Rock Chick one but I guess Rock Chicks don't stay at home squeezing creams and do decorations >.<

You will need a basic set ; cream for the base, jar to decorate, nozzles to give patterns to the cream when squeezed and of course those pretty decoden embellishments!

The tools and accessories to start off

This is how cute and tiny and detailed these clay work embellishments are from TinyPinc

For beginners who have totally no idea on how do you start or plan the arrangement later, you can always refer to some Youtube videos of those who have done it.
It will give you a rough idea on what you can do for each steps.

This is where I learnt to do mine ;)

Putting on the cream is fun! Well, it's fun for me as I never have baked and decorated a cake or even a mini cupcake before in life!
Simply select the desired nozzle and squeeze on!

Starting slow and steady ;)

And the completed base of cream

It's always good to put aside the kind of embellishments that you want to use for the decoration so that once you are done with the base, you can immediately decorate it before it dries up.

Added the ice cream top, followed by some cookies and sprinkles!

If you didn't get enough embellishments or only have a small budget. but would like to add more spice to your decoden, you can always look around things in your vanity case or even your lil' sister's accessories for any small ornaments that you could recycle. Here, I have a plastic filled with rubber bands and hair clips for kiddies that a small cousin gave me haha! I detached some pretty tiny flowers from some hair clips to use. Also managed to get a kitty figurine attached to one of those scrunchies!

Pick the right size so as not to overwhelm the whole concept.

Tadah!! And it's done!

After completing the project I still have some cream left along with a handful of the embellishments. I can defintely look for a smaller jar to do another piece. Yay!
You don't need to get this baked as it is air dired by the way :)

Can't wait to get your hand on a set to play with? You should! Head on to TinyPinc and order a set or two now! It is also a great gift to friends who loves the arty of decoden too. Make this a Christmas gift for 'em.

If you are just not good in arts at all and would rather buy something ready made, here's some of those stuff that I would so buy!

The X'mas Card Clipper at RM50

Miniature Snow Globe decor going for RM39

Coffee and Rose Miniature Magnet decor going for RM38.00

Chocolate and Rose Miniature Magnet decor going for RM38.00

You can visit TinyPinc's Facebook page for more inspiration and be awed!
Place your order quick if this is meant to be for X'mas pressie yeah as most probably a lot of blogshops will be closed during the festive period.
