Selamat Hari Raya!

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

Lagu raya rancak berkumandang
Budak kecil bertempiaran angpau di minta
Kami dari team YSK meminta ampun
Sekian lama update macam kura-kura

Nampak kuih raya terus naik gian
Ketupat lemang juga di sumbat
Kalau dah kembang bimbanglah kemudian

Selamat Bershopping!!

Product Review: Sheer Versatility

By Wei Ni (Guest Blogger)

Ever wanted an insanely versatile piece that can double up as an off-the-shoulder top, a oversized top, a casual skirt or perhaps just something to throw on to keep your shoulders warm.

Ponchos have gotta be one of the most neglected and often dismissed pieces of clothing around. It’s probably due to the fact that aside from wearing a poncho as just a regular top, people can’t see the versatility in it. So below, we’ve received a few pretty nifty handmade ponchos brought to you by Xisters Blogshop from their Xisters Xclusive collection!

IMG_2866IMG_2868IMG_2869

Delicious mustard yellow chiffon poncho worn off-shouldered.

IMG_2870IMG_2871

And the same mustard yellow poncho worn toga style! You can opt to wear this poncho alone or with a tank/spaghetti top inside, or any fitted mini dresses would do just as well. :) Feel free to add on a slim belt as well!

IMG_2872IMG_2873IMG_2875

Super short length poncho in khaki brown, worn as a skirt! As this poncho is made out of chiffon, it is sheer so it’s highly recommended that you wear it with a pair of leggings or jeans (as pictured) with it. These make great beach skirts whereby the sheerness does not become an issue. :)

IMG_2876IMG_2877IMG_2878

V-cut oversized poncho paired with a thick belt and shorts. I like how this particular cut of poncho paired with the wide belt reminds me of a kimono!

IMG_2883IMG_2879IMG_2881

Superbly long, this lovely burnt orange chiffon poncho makes a great cover up for maxi dresses! As this particular poncho is longer than the rest, they look great when tied up at the waist! Another option would be pairing this poncho up with a long maxi skirt. :)

IMG_2884IMG_2886IMG_2887

Dark green shimmery poncho! This poncho with it’s irregular hemline and wide enough collar makes this a great clubbing top! Pair it with leggings, skinny jeans or even a tight mini skirt with a belt of contrasting colour to get all eyes on you on the dance floor! :)

To find out more about these ponchos, head on over to Xisters Xclusive for more details!
As these ponchos are all handmade, you are totally free to CUSTOMISE your own poncho! Whatever length you want it, what kinda cut, what colour and material, these ponchos are fully customisable!

Price is negotiable depending on the cut, size and type of material you want.

Have you got your poncho on yet? :)

Till next time!
Wei Ni out.
xoxo

Product Review: Goldilocks' Little Secret

Product Review on Hair Extensions!
By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

Ahem..
Welcome to another camwhore session of me, me and me!!
What is a review without the constant 'syiok-sendiri' camwhore rite? :)
And a camwhore session sometimes gets mundane when you lack accessories
My review buddy, Wei Ni does it best when it comes to accesorising for her camwhoring session ;)

The Lady Gaga-Waga hugs a tree campaign *tsk tsk*
(don't you love the platinum wig!!? <3)

Pocahontas frills and street blonde!

Yup, those 'plastic' hair do wonders to give a transformation ;) In more specific terms, it is called 'kanekolan' hair - synthetic piece, either as a full wig or as clip on extension that functions to add volume or simply to give you a makeover.
Of course, if you have no intention to face the real world and just want to show off to the virtual world on your makeover, you can always Photoshop yourself into any desired style...

Do you like my Inverted bob? Spotted on Rihanna too! =P
(the photoshop version!)

Wei Ni got her Pocahontas straight frills from Melody Love Fashion. And I followed suit =P

big cocoon of hair I got here! ;)

I got myself the curly sets as I have always have straight hair and it is kind of boring having to be in nothing but this...

I attempted in getting a wig before I got the hair extension though. I think my big head refused to be submerged under that bush of kanekolan, because I looked like Luigi of Super Mario Brothers *__*

Before the taking over by Luigi

*__* full hair wigs just don't suit me!

Hair extensions are way easier to adjust and fix onto hair as it is secured with built-in clips. I find myself a tad bit insecure with a full wig. Obviously my big head can't fit well into the cap, hence it moves quite a lot.

The hair extension is way easier to manage. For RM100, it comes in a set of 4 pieces - which comes down to RM25 for a piece. You can share with another friend when buying because a set of 4 may be a bit too much if you are of a petite frame and with a small head. For my humongous head itself, I only used 3. I could have used the entire 4 sets, but waking up 45 minutes before an event doesn't leave me with much choice but to quickly finish up my make-up and hair and leave the house a.s.a.p!

The full hair wig on the left and the extensions on top of the lampshade =P

Oh! Perfect color that matches my hair color! See how it's almost seamless when clipped on?

As much as I would like to doll up, most of the time I lack the equipment and accessories to do it. I do not have a real comb. Yeah, those thing that you use to brush your hair nice and smooth. I just don't comb my hair. Hence, it is only natural that I do not have items like curlers, hair spray, hair gel or such. Which is why I end up having straight bunch of hairs in between the curls from the extension. Tada!!

I am sure one day, it will be a trend to have both straight and waves on one head. No?

I am pretty happy with the sets of extension and my friends seriously thought I have grew such lustrous hair in such short time. Yes! It blends in so well in colour and in texture that they got conned into believing it is real. Though they do not understand the concept of having straight hairs in between waves =P

Like real hair! No?

If you have always been wondering how would you look like in a more voluminous crowning glory and would like to wow the crowd with hair that need no go under the saloon treatment, head on to Melody Love Fashion and choose our preferred style of extension and experiment on!

One last camwhore from a contented buyer ;)

For RM100 a set of 4, perhaps I should try to get the straight set too and see how would I look with voluminous straight hair! =P Get yours HERE!

The Perfect S

Product Review: LUS - S Line Slimming Cream
By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

Sigh... the most dreaded subject for most girls - achieving the 'S' line at all the appropriate parts of the body. And it really doesn't help when most of the time we get ourselves seated in front of the PC updating Facebook status on what have you eaten today, drank, saw and thought about today while munching on tidbits.

And today lesson is about combating those cellulites which seems to have gone stagnant in many parts of our body. This is most probably the most worrying issues in us girls and woman. Be it at 39kg, 46kgs, 65kgs or 88 kgs, we are constantly on the search of products that promise us a slender figure, leaner legs and slimmer arms perhaps. Of course, with a proper diet and well balanced lifestyle with sufficient exercise, you are most probably 75% to achieving that. But with 65% of our time spent on Facebooking, and 50% of us girls who refused to do outdoor activities for fear that our complexion will get tanned and almost another 50% who cannot stand sweating, chances are that you will be like me - accumulating 'human lards' on all parts of your body.

And this is where slimming products come in. To assist the lazy us in burning fats without much hassle. Personally, if you ask if I do believe in slimming products or not, I would not give a certainty in my answer. Because, while a product may work on my neighbour, it may not work on me and vice versa. But by now, I am pretty sure most of us know that anything is worth a try if it gives some hope to reducing some inches off our body parts ;)

I managed to get hold of a set of LUS - S Line Body Slimming Glove from Supermodels' Secrets to try out recently. A box of it comes with 5 sets of gloves, for 5 applications obviously. This is a partial review as I believe items that are applied on individuals may often varies from one individual to another :)

The Contents

the whole set!

too basic an English statements that I can't really understand fully =P

Each packet contains one glove soaked in some moistened agent (the slimming cream).

The gloves comes in 2 different surface - an exfoliating surface and a massaging surface. As indicated in the instruction, the exfoliating surface is the one with dotted surface and the massaging surface is the other smoother one. However, when scrubbed on, the exfoliating surface seem to do more massage work and the smoother one seems to work better as an exfoliating surface (I may have gotten the surface wrong!) =P

But whichever surface doesn't really matter I guess, as it is equally drenched with the same slimming agents anyway ;)

How do you work it?

I started the 'exfoliating process' with the dotted surface as instructed. As the surface is only mildly grainy, it felt more like massaging. The other surface intended for massaging has a coarse texture and felt more like exfoliating! ;)

The dotted surface and the grainy surface of the glove.

After a mere 30 minutes of intense exfoliating and massaging (do not forget to make use of the exfoliating feature and scrub the knee cap also yah!), I felt some heated sensation on areas which I used the glove on. I supposed the fat burning agent is starting to work its way into the layers of fats =D

While waiting for it to work, do proceed to use the glove on other parts of the body, like the feet, back or anywhere else with dead skin cells that needs to be removed =D

Does it work?
Well, to be honest, so far I only had 2 applications. And it will be difficult for me to judge. But I had a before and after picture taken to justify if it does work ;) Then again, you may say I purposely stretch the tape to make some measurement variances. So I adjust the strap to the nearest mole as a point of GPS reference for both the before and after picture =P

I have also seen some reviews online and most does give some pretty good feedback.

How much would this cost you?
If you are a user of items such as Elancyl or any off the shelf slimming products, this is pretty much reasonably rated at RM89 (retail price) - currently available in all Sasa stores. But for you people who does not have access to the offline store, fret not! Supermodel's Secrets (yes, your one-stop vanity store) carries this too! And it is currently on a promotional rate of RM71 with postage included.

Hypothetically, I would say that in general most creams do work. But the results will definitely differ due to many factors. A cheaper product may require more application and extra hours to work on it ;) A slightly more advanced technology product (which is usually priced higher, of course) may take slightly lesser effort to see the results. Then again, sometimes it also depends on our body tolerance. I suppose everyone have a different tolerance/accceptance/adaptability level towards external products. Like how some girls can just make do with the traditional Hazeline Snow cream and get flawless complexion, while others literally milked a cow, shower ownself with milk and lather on expensive cream to get the same results ;)

What now?
If you are keen to try out the product, TWIO is currently having a super duper easy contest in Facebook and you get a chance to win an actual set of both LUS V-Line and S Line respectively. But of course the best prize of all is the Ipad that is up for grab!!
