Product Review: The Convertible Dress

Picture this. You've been invited to a fancy party, but you've been so caught up with work/school that you haven't had time to go shopping! Your friends have seen you in every dress that you own - what do you do, what do you do?

Now, wouldn't you wish one of your dresses could
magically
turn into a different dress? :D

If you didn't already know this, there is indeed such a dress! :) You neither need a fairy godmother nor the skills of a seamstress - all you need is ONE convertible dress and a YouTube video to teach you how to wear the dress the way you want to!

Everybody say,
"Yayyyyy!"

Here are just some of the many ways you can wear this dress:

Of course, such a chameleon-like dress usually comes with a hefty price tag - we're talking hundreds of USD. But lucky for us, Malaysian blogshop Mizu Closet has stocked up on these convertible dresses - in 3 staple shades (black, pink, purple) - and for only RM60! :D

Convertible dress from Mizu Closet RM60

Why did I buy it?

To be honest, I've heard of the wonders of the dress for about a year now - but a part of me has always wondered if this was one of those shopping "myths" (one dress can turn into more than 10? Don't pull my leg!). So I bought this because I wanted to see if it was true (and this is the lowest price in town for this, as far as I can tell :P) - and because I wanted to tell YSK readers, too! :D So today, I can assure you that based on my personal experience, this convertible dress is such an amazing investment piece for your wardrobe!

What the dress looks like, laid flat:

Elastic waistband that stretches comfortably up to 45 inches. Best fits dress sizes UK4-18.
Comfy flare skirt that falls so gracefully. Thick, relatively heavy material.
If wearing the skirt at waist-level, this would probably be a maxi dress for petites.
While I wouldn't call this 100% free size, it's suitable for any height range. :)
Even if it's too long for your liking, you can get the length altered at the tailor for a few ringgit.

Do enquire at the blogshop selling this dress for measurements if unsure! :)

What makes this dress so special? Its versatility!
Besides being a totally awesome travel buddy if you're low on luggage space, this is one of those long-term money-savers that you simply can't pass up on. :P Suitable for parties, proms, dinners, hi-tea, upper-crust brunch, showing off your sexy back in general (or your sexy front with a plunging neckline), shopping (wear it bandeau/tube style for that short & cute effect!) ... basically anything except, like, lectures. You can even wear it to work under a fitted blazer or longline button-up cardigan! :D The possibilites are endless!

Slightly different variations of the dress, but similar styles:

Do you accept request for review? I wish that my shop can be reviewed by you. It's a new shop and it lacks popularity.
I need your help.

Take a look at my shop ^_^ www.colorsbead.com

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Sha-Lene,

Could you try those dress styles and post photos of them here? What is seen on photos and on Youtube is rather vague. Thanks.

Hi Joey! :)

Sorry for the late reply, I seem to have missed out your comment! I think the YouTube videos demonstrate as best as possible the different styles of wearing the dress - with my lack of folding and tucking skills I couldn't do any better by myself :P I'll see what I can do ya :)
