Product Review: Smooth legs for the hair-free carefree

*Edited: Note the correction about how long one box can last - it's 3 months, not 1 month+ like I earlier estimated. Sorry! :P

Hello, hello dear shopping kakis! :) A new month, a new adventure into a new beauty product! :D Growing older equals growing vainer for yours truly - and what picture of vanity would be complete without another foray into hair removal? :P

Product: Smooooth Legs | Price: RM29 including delivery
Available now at Supermodel's Secrets

First things first, I know two blog posts about hair removal products may be a little too much for some of you - but I'm sure the rest of you, like myself, want to know as much as possible about all the possible options, right? :D More information is always better! The conventional shaving with the shaving cream looks so damaging because of the chemicals. And waxing is just SO painful! And electrolisis is so expensive la!

So, a couple of months ago, I reviewed TweeZe, an automatic tweezer that does what a manual tweezer does - but faster :D And I've been using TweeZe - love it! - but it's totally sold out at Supermodel's Secrets now! Luckily, they have a new product called Wizzit - an even faster automatic tweezer than TweeZe :D It's only RM59, including shipping and other useful freebies thrown in (travel bag, manicure and make-up brush set).

However, automatic tweezers aren't the perfect substitute for shaving bigger areas like legs. Thus, today's review is about the very affordable Smooooth Legs - an even faster hair removal (and exfoliator) product!

Smooooth Legs. Four "O"s - count them! :P

What is Smooooth Legs?
Chemical-free exfoliating pads covered with super-fine crystals!
It basically "buffs" away unwanted hair. Cool, right? :D

I'm loving the packaging it comes in! :) So travel-friendly!

Does it work?
The short answer is - yes, it does! :)
The long answer is that it doesn't pull hairs out from its roots, like automatic tweezers - so the hair grows back pretty fast, like 3 days later.
However, Smooth Legs exfoliates and tweezers don't.
Smooooth Legs is painless! :D

My personal take on this product?
I know this product is mainly for legs, but I don't really have hair on my legs so I used them on my underarms and arms :D And they really work! My left arm was hairless for about three days. :) Funky but effective experiment. Sadly the hairless-ness doesn't last forever - the hair does grow back :P The crystal pads don't last forever either - you can use each pad a few times, and change it when you feel it's losing its effectiveness.

With rough calculations, I reckon the entire package can last you at least 10 complete face-to-legs hair removal sessions :D If you use these very regularly, they'll last you a little over a month. Correction: One box can last 3 months! :) After you use it, it will turn white-grey. Just smack off the dust and you can use it again and again.

Oooh and one thing I really like about them - your hair doesn't grow back prickly and rough like I was worried they would :) They grow back exactly the same as it was before :) But less hair - which is a good thing!

Warning: The thing about these crystal pads is that they're like ultra-soft "sandpaper" - and you're basically rubbing in circles to buff away the hair - so DON'T rub too hard.

There's this girl on YouTube who did an awesome review on Smoooth Legs (hers was called Smooth Away, but it's really the same thing) - she even shows you how she uses it and all! :) So check it out below:

PS: My next personal product review on beauty products should be sometime this month, on Salon Shaper - a manicure set of sorts :) I bought it for my mum for her birthday - these things make great gifts! :D But I thought I'd borrow it for a little while to do the review, hehe! :P So you guys can decide if you want to buy it too! Other upcoming product reviews I'll be doing are plus-sized jumpsuits from Jessabella's Plus Sized Steals, pre-order shoes from Agape Boutique. Not forgetting a variety of other goodies that our Guest Blogger Cynthia will be covering! :D With the help of these product reviews, you'll definitely be able to make more informed decisions - we take the risks for you! :)

Hi Sha-lene,
does it hurt?
cause i'm thinking of getting one
to get rid of the hair at bikini line,
instead of shaving,
cause new grown hair gets thicker
everytime :(

Hi Anonymous :) No, it doesn't hurt at all! It's not like plucking, tweezing or waxing - this is just rubbing in circles by applying gentle pressure but wihout pressing hard. Check out the YouTube video and you can see how painless and easy it really is! :)

But I've never tried it at the bikini line - I think you could use it for that, though :) Just trim the hair with scissors first and then use the Smooooth Legs! :D
