Merry Christmas! :)

By Sha-Lene (a.k.a Your Shopping Kaki)

First things first, I'm so sorry for going quiet on you - my wonderful readers - for the past few months! :( No amount of explanation can quite excuse that "Oh my gosh, I finally finished my undergraduate degree, I wanna waste my life for half a year figure out what I wanna do for the rest of my life" unannounced hiatus, but I just wanted to pop in and apologise and let you guys know... I'll be back someday soon! :)

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank my team of Guest Bloggers who helped keep YSK alive while I was busy with my final year in university - and I look forward to having them on board again when YSK is revived! :) Much loves to Cynthia, Wei Ni, Mechell, Anna, Nathalee, Michelle and other friends who contribute to this blog. :D

I still have so many ambitions for this blog, and things I want to share with you guys to enjoy in the online shopping community ... my work is not yet done! :) We encourage you to subscribe to our mailing list so you'll be updated via e-mail when ever there's a new blog post up. To subscribe, scroll down to the very bottom of this webpage and just type in your e-mail address! :D

Don't forget to make full use of our categories of blogshops available on the right sidebar! :) So fun to see what yummy new updates there are, even if I'm only back every now and then! Take advantage of those Year End Sales for New Year parties, ya! ;) And it's never too early to start shopping for CNY!

Right now, I'm getting my life back on track - growing up, I should say! - and busy with looking for a job and preparing for post-graduate studies abroad. I miss the online shopping world terribly, but I don't want to bite more than I can chew right now - since the mind, when idle for so long, is rusty; as is my lack-of-updated-self-on-latest-fashion-trends - so I just wanted to say hello, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance! :)

Here's to greeting the new year with a sunny smile! :D

While I'm back, some goodies I couldn't resist reviewing, haha!

From Sista Closette RM40
Sometimes it's just fun to wear an unexpected cheongsam top to college - even if it's not CNY!
Embrace thy heritage or the multiculturalist in you, I say!
Also a poppin' red top with a blazer or jacket for a day at the office :)
Can be accessorized with a big ol' brooch for that 1950's Hong Kong feel!

 From glossyaddiction RM73
After all this time away, I'd have thought my tastebuds would've taken a big change -
but nope, I'm still hopelessly in love with this sparrow bag inspired by the Marc Jacobs design!
Also loving the fact that this is exclusive to this online store, since they commissioned the design. :D

From Deeper Than Fashion (price N/A)
Did you hear me squeal? I swear it was a loud one!
Handmade tribal bib necklace - open to custom orders - what a delight!
Also spotted a DIY tutorial on candy-cane earrings in this craft-lovin' blogshop.
I love how some things never change - I still love this store, looks like she's gotten more creative! :)

Golly gee wheez, have you seen anything effortless sexier?
One for those posh li'l parties - or just blowing people's minds at dinner -
and another for just casual hanging out at the mall, brunch with the boyfriend, you name it!
Not quite a style for the timid and modest, but sometimes it's wildly fun to step out of your shell -
if you got it - the confidence, not the figure - flaunt it! ;)

Product Review: I am Seeing Colours!

Product Review: Magic Color Lens
By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

Hello! :D Today we are playing dressing up for no particular reason ;) Hope the holidays have been a marvellous one for all of you readers. There wasn't much for me to do during long holidays except for yoga classes and Indian Classical Dance classes that I attend dutifully. Holidays are the time where I had slightly more time to entisify on my camwhore skills with more props/make up =P

Magic Colour Lens from Magic Colour Lens of course!

Another of must haves in the vanity drawers of any camwhorer - colourful lenses/big eye lenses/emotional lenses. I call 'em emotional because you will be amazed with the wonders these 'out-of-conventional' lenses can do to enhance those features of yours.

Can you spot the one with and without lenses?

Make-up are normally great by itself. It gives the glow that you can never find in those tired face of ours due to long hours of assignment, works and such. But of course there are those who are so lucky and are born with the flawless complexion and need no further enhancement. I am not under those category. I am under the 'I need to do something to divert your attention to staring at my bad complexion'. So what is best to use as a diversion if not the pair of boobs eyes that can sometimes kill with just a stare =P

Did I I killed ya with my stare? Did I? Did I? =P
In Blushy - Brown

Coloured lenses are great add-ons if you have a dull expression like mine ;) However, I have decided that colour lenses are best used with some make-up. Otherwise, you may end up like a famished vampire waiting to suck on some chicken legs.

So, I went puff, puff, slather here and there, line this and that, blush blush ....

puff, dabs and more dabs, slather, slather and even fixed a wig on!
Blusher from Daiso
OCC Lip Tar from Cult Serendipity
Seamless fringe from Supermodels' Secrets

I got 2 types of coloured lens from Magic Color Lens - a Blushy in brown and a Sparkling in Aqua. Blushy is rather expressive in my opinion. Very intense and bloodshot (from earlier 'stare-to-kill' picture). But it is easily toned down with a lil make-up. I always like the combo of brown and khaki green. So I slapped on some green shadow in olive instead and framed up the eyes with brown lined eyebrows using eyeshadow =P

Eyes are instantly brightens up and appear bigger than it normally is without lenses. I would say it is more expressive than a bare set of eyes. It is like O.O and not o.o

Spot my fake diamond ear-stud studded on my nose! Now I can have big mouth, big nose, big eyes to compliment a big face. What a balance! -_-
In Blushy - Brown

More camwhore to irritate...
Initially planned to do a Poison Ivy makeover, but can't get any suitable clothes =P
In Blushy - Brown
I conceptualise the next set of colored lenses based on those cute Japanese girls you can spot in those magazine with lots of Japanese text and big-eyed girls. The Sparkling range is perfect if you want to appear dreamy and forever in your own world of nothingness ;)

Before you stare in disgust of my portrayal of cute, bear in mind I am 32 years of age and cute is not my middle name but I try! =P
Dreamy eyes with nude lips are best to intensify your dreaminess ;)

Hair extension from Melody Love fashion
Dreamy eyes lenses from Magic Color Lenses in Sparkling-Aqua

More camwhore!!
I am pretty happy with the lenses and they looked like any ordinary lenses that you can get from the optician. Hygienically packed in standard casing (I always have this impression that some sellers re-package the lenses in their kitchen by dropping it into jars, I don't know why), the Magic Colour Lens is pretty easy to browse and all the different types of lenses are listed clearly for easy navigation.

Besides pretty lenses in all sorts of variation, the owner that carries the Magic Color Lens also carries a range of tote and bag organiser designed by herself under the label of Chic & Sleek.

Now you may wonder, it's just another tote. Exactly! Just a tote. But with pretty chic design!

pick the tote of your choice HERE!

The size of the tote is actually made to fit the bag organiser which Chic & Sleek carries.A bag organiser is of course, to assist you in organising all your items so that you will not need to keep digging and digging to find that lip balm of yours ;)

In case you do not know what is a bag organiser ;)

Chic & Sleek is currently having a massive promotion on the tote and organiser set. Get yourself a set of tote and bag organiser of your choice and pay only RM70 inclusive of postage! What a deal considering that the normal price for the tote is RM68 and the bag organiser at RM45. You saved a whopping RM43!

Your perfect tools for the 'No Plastic Day' shopping ;)

I picked an Egyptian Pony Design set on a hot pink canvas, which I now religiously carry to work. On weekends I emptied out all my papers and make ups and office stuff and uses it for minor shopping ;) It comes with some smaller pockets inside to store those nitty gritty accesories.

Great quality canvas with hot stamping prints - Egyptian Pony design

To a certain extent I actually uses it as a laptop bag when I have to stop by Starbucks on weekly basis =P Now that color-blocking is in trend, this is a perfect accessory! Choose a color that totally contrast with your basic outfit for a change. It totally stands out.

Hot pink and electric blue combo to colorblock! | Hot pink with my striped dress

Now I sounded like I am campaigning for pink over and over again, but it is so pretty! But of course, for the monochrome community who prefers lesser attention there's equally as much pretty design in black details set on white canvas and many more other options. Check them out in their Facebook page HERE.
And I shall end this post with some excessive makeover of the Raya holidays! Welcome back to work, studies and traffic jams! ;)

Selamat Hari Raya!

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

Lagu raya rancak berkumandang
Budak kecil bertempiaran angpau di minta
Kami dari team YSK meminta ampun
Sekian lama update macam kura-kura

Nampak kuih raya terus naik gian
Ketupat lemang juga di sumbat
Kalau dah kembang bimbanglah kemudian

Selamat Bershopping!!

Product Review: Sheer Versatility

By Wei Ni (Guest Blogger)

Ever wanted an insanely versatile piece that can double up as an off-the-shoulder top, a oversized top, a casual skirt or perhaps just something to throw on to keep your shoulders warm.

Ponchos have gotta be one of the most neglected and often dismissed pieces of clothing around. It’s probably due to the fact that aside from wearing a poncho as just a regular top, people can’t see the versatility in it. So below, we’ve received a few pretty nifty handmade ponchos brought to you by Xisters Blogshop from their Xisters Xclusive collection!

IMG_2866IMG_2868IMG_2869

Delicious mustard yellow chiffon poncho worn off-shouldered.

IMG_2870IMG_2871

And the same mustard yellow poncho worn toga style! You can opt to wear this poncho alone or with a tank/spaghetti top inside, or any fitted mini dresses would do just as well. :) Feel free to add on a slim belt as well!

IMG_2872IMG_2873IMG_2875

Super short length poncho in khaki brown, worn as a skirt! As this poncho is made out of chiffon, it is sheer so it’s highly recommended that you wear it with a pair of leggings or jeans (as pictured) with it. These make great beach skirts whereby the sheerness does not become an issue. :)

IMG_2876IMG_2877IMG_2878

V-cut oversized poncho paired with a thick belt and shorts. I like how this particular cut of poncho paired with the wide belt reminds me of a kimono!

IMG_2883IMG_2879IMG_2881

Superbly long, this lovely burnt orange chiffon poncho makes a great cover up for maxi dresses! As this particular poncho is longer than the rest, they look great when tied up at the waist! Another option would be pairing this poncho up with a long maxi skirt. :)

IMG_2884IMG_2886IMG_2887

Dark green shimmery poncho! This poncho with it’s irregular hemline and wide enough collar makes this a great clubbing top! Pair it with leggings, skinny jeans or even a tight mini skirt with a belt of contrasting colour to get all eyes on you on the dance floor! :)

To find out more about these ponchos, head on over to Xisters Xclusive for more details!
As these ponchos are all handmade, you are totally free to CUSTOMISE your own poncho! Whatever length you want it, what kinda cut, what colour and material, these ponchos are fully customisable!

Price is negotiable depending on the cut, size and type of material you want.

Have you got your poncho on yet? :)

Till next time!
Wei Ni out.
xoxo

Product Review: Goldilocks' Little Secret

Product Review on Hair Extensions!
By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

Ahem..
Welcome to another camwhore session of me, me and me!!
What is a review without the constant 'syiok-sendiri' camwhore rite? :)
And a camwhore session sometimes gets mundane when you lack accessories
My review buddy, Wei Ni does it best when it comes to accesorising for her camwhoring session ;)

The Lady Gaga-Waga hugs a tree campaign *tsk tsk*
(don't you love the platinum wig!!? <3)

Pocahontas frills and street blonde!

Yup, those 'plastic' hair do wonders to give a transformation ;) In more specific terms, it is called 'kanekolan' hair - synthetic piece, either as a full wig or as clip on extension that functions to add volume or simply to give you a makeover.
Of course, if you have no intention to face the real world and just want to show off to the virtual world on your makeover, you can always Photoshop yourself into any desired style...

Do you like my Inverted bob? Spotted on Rihanna too! =P
(the photoshop version!)

Wei Ni got her Pocahontas straight frills from Melody Love Fashion. And I followed suit =P

big cocoon of hair I got here! ;)

I got myself the curly sets as I have always have straight hair and it is kind of boring having to be in nothing but this...

I attempted in getting a wig before I got the hair extension though. I think my big head refused to be submerged under that bush of kanekolan, because I looked like Luigi of Super Mario Brothers *__*

Before the taking over by Luigi

*__* full hair wigs just don't suit me!

Hair extensions are way easier to adjust and fix onto hair as it is secured with built-in clips. I find myself a tad bit insecure with a full wig. Obviously my big head can't fit well into the cap, hence it moves quite a lot.

The hair extension is way easier to manage. For RM100, it comes in a set of 4 pieces - which comes down to RM25 for a piece. You can share with another friend when buying because a set of 4 may be a bit too much if you are of a petite frame and with a small head. For my humongous head itself, I only used 3. I could have used the entire 4 sets, but waking up 45 minutes before an event doesn't leave me with much choice but to quickly finish up my make-up and hair and leave the house a.s.a.p!

The full hair wig on the left and the extensions on top of the lampshade =P

Oh! Perfect color that matches my hair color! See how it's almost seamless when clipped on?

As much as I would like to doll up, most of the time I lack the equipment and accessories to do it. I do not have a real comb. Yeah, those thing that you use to brush your hair nice and smooth. I just don't comb my hair. Hence, it is only natural that I do not have items like curlers, hair spray, hair gel or such. Which is why I end up having straight bunch of hairs in between the curls from the extension. Tada!!

I am sure one day, it will be a trend to have both straight and waves on one head. No?

I am pretty happy with the sets of extension and my friends seriously thought I have grew such lustrous hair in such short time. Yes! It blends in so well in colour and in texture that they got conned into believing it is real. Though they do not understand the concept of having straight hairs in between waves =P

Like real hair! No?

If you have always been wondering how would you look like in a more voluminous crowning glory and would like to wow the crowd with hair that need no go under the saloon treatment, head on to Melody Love Fashion and choose our preferred style of extension and experiment on!

One last camwhore from a contented buyer ;)

For RM100 a set of 4, perhaps I should try to get the straight set too and see how would I look with voluminous straight hair! =P Get yours HERE!

Happy Shopping!
