Event Review: MagicColour Lens Blogger's Review Session @ Mid Valley

By Michelle C. (Guest Blogger)

Heya beautiful people!=D

By now, you've prolly heard of Geo Lens a.k.a Circle lens that has been a huge hit in Japan and Korea for its ability to make one's eyes anime-like due to its larger diameter and vibrant colors. I've always wanted eyes that pop (uhh, not pop out of the socket, but bigger, brighter eyes with a gaze that mesmerizes =D) but never dared to try these lens back then as I used to be a tad doubtful on its safety and its origins. However, after having the opportunity to try 'em out, I'm a fan now! Thanks to MagicColour contact lens - a brand new Korean circle lens brand that has just hit our shores last month and YSK is honoured to be invited to be part of their launch a.k.a Blogger's review event which was held in Delectable, Mid Valley.

A fun-filled event with food, free makeover sessions and goodiebag for all the bloggers. I'll let the photos speak for itself ;) :

MagicColour Lens custom made cupcakes and chocolate lollipops. Cute stuff!

We're greeted with goodiebags containing a bag organizer, 3 pairs of lens ,
chic&sleek canvas bag & 1 set of the lens casing

Bloggers mingling with delectable finger food before the makeover session.

Make up session ... and now.. our crowning glory gets glorified =D

Next up is the photoshoot, all of us got the opportunity for a shot with MagicColour Lens after the makeover and hair do, and here are snapshots of the photos of the bloggers and yours truly donning MagicColour lens.

Group shot after the event =)

We're all ecstatic as we all can now look like Tsubasa Masuwaka (anytime!),
the gyaru top model in Japan. Yikes, sorry, I digressed.

My personal review on MagicColour Lens:

Lens quality/design/size:
Top quality lenses that is made in Korea using the latest diamond cutting technology, with 16.00mm diameter, normal lenses are 14.00mm in diameter. While 2.00mm may seem miniscule with the naked eye, it makes a HUGE difference when worn on the eyes. Below is a personal pic. Right eye (no MagicColour Lens), Left eye (Wearing MagicColour lens). Huge diffference eh?

BEFORE (Left) AFTER (Right - with MagicColour lens)

Variety/colours: They've got 11 collections altogether, my favourite is Blushy collection as it has 3 color tones and blends beautifully into dreamy like anime eyes. This one will suit casual outings and everyday wear, and they have got collections with pretty patterns too like the Ballerina range, which looks fun to try out on special occasions.

Comfort: Wearing this for up to 4 hours is fine, after the 4th hour it gets a bit dry, hence i recommend using eyedrops. I have got very sensitive eyes, so maybe for me my eyes feels dry faster than alot of people.it has 55% water content so it is still fairly moisturised. Use a moirturising solution prior to wearing to help extend the moisture odf the lens while wearing it.

Packaging: Blister packaging encased in another lovely box by MagicColour, very hygienic.

Other comments: This lens looks great not only in real life but stands out all the more in photos. It makes even the smallest of eyes stand out.

MagicColour Lens is available for purchase here:

Event Review: The HandMade Movement

Event: The Hand Made Movement (bFree Centre of Creativity)
By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

If there is anyone who appreciates and understands the art of handmade items, I think I should be considered one. This is because I am equally as involved in handmade stuff in my day job too ;) Well, I don't really do the manual job anymore besides the rare occasion where I am needed to conduct lessons on it. But having to work in such an environment has made me more appreciative of all things handmade. We are really passionate about stuff handmade that even our packaging boxes are hand weaved or hand patched with fabrics =D

work in progress in our humble studio-cum-office

But today's post is not about the fabulous things that I do on my day job. Today we shall celebrate the awesomeness of being able to at least do something with our own bare hands and proud to label it 'Hand Made With Love' ;)

And if by now if your bare hands are itching and fidgeting to do something creative, let it be free at the Bfree centre of creativity. Organised by the HandMade Movement, the Bfree centre provides a platform for all craft enthusiast to learn various form of crafts from scrapbooking, making own soap and lip balm (yes! why buy when you can make your own!), polymer clay, book binding and many more interesting activities to explore.

I managed to have my hands on the Beginner's Polymer Class, conducted by HooiYin of TinyPinc. And class was fun! The enthusiastic participants comprises craft lovers of all backgrounds! The Chinese, Malays and Indians (from India ok!) of all ages with one vision - to make polymer choco chips cookies =D Talk about being muhibbah!! ;)

The starter kit. Notice the ring base and some earring chain?
Yes, we are making something! Yay!

choco chips in the making! ;)

I would call this the 'texturing' process to create the dents on the cookies ;)

A pair of butter cookies to in progress to be baked and turn into earrings (and not to eat?!) Check my choco chips cookies glazed with.. glue >.<

Getting ready to be baked! Woohoo!
Everyone was so excited to wait for the outcome ;)

While waiting for our bakes for the day to be completed, we progress into making Candy Cane. Don't you always wonder how did they achieve the swirl?

Roll, roll, roll, roll and twist!

tada! my candy cane all done!

And all our fabulous choco chips, butter cookies and candy cane went into this oven while we waitetd eargerly to see how it will turn out to be =D =D

Baking! | Some of the collection brought in by Hooi Yin to inspire us ;)

By now, I hope you are shrieking in excitement knowing that you now need not sit in front of the PC and google ways to make these crafty items and have no interaction with people of the likes. Check out some of the classes available in the Bfree Centre and get hold of some friends whom you think may be interested too and start getting crafty. If you have no friends of the same interest, like me, go alone! And meet more new friends.

Fret not about anyone bitching about what you wear, what you look like or how you smell (ok, maybe not this!) in the class, as I can see that everyone comes with the grand intention to learn the craft for and bring home some skills that they can practice during their leisure time ;)

Book binding Class | Socks Doll Making Class

The Bfree Centre is located at 12A-3, Jalan PJS 8/11, Dataran Mentari, Bandar Sunway, 46150, Petaling Jaya, Selangor D.E, Malaysia.

I think I am planning to go for the decoupage class the next round. Want to know what's that? Head on HERE!
