Things I Thought I'd Never Do...

By Wei Ni (Guest Blogger)

I've never been one to join pageants or contest. I'm definitely not a fan at all of campaigning for myself or even asking people to LIKE my photo. While I dislike those kinda 'LIKING' contest, I understand their purpose and why companies choose to do it. However, just because I understand doesn't mean I have to like it!

Anyhoo, my friend Nadia of Liquido Malaysia is currently holding a Liquido Miss Bikini pageant/contest/competition. While I totally support what she's doing, I'd never thought to join at all. However, at the encouragement of my BF, my sister Lulu & her friends, I thought 'oh, why not!'. And so I joined.

Don't know why I was looking so bored here, but I guess this is just my regular face when I'm listening to something. Sorry Nads, I wasn't bored really! People have 'Resting Bitch Face', I have 'Resting Bored Face'. :P

For the first casting & photo shoot day, let's just say I was pretty darn nervous! I am totally horrid at public speaking/giving a speech/speaking in front of people so for most part of the Q&A section, I was super nervous and my hands were actually shaking!

Thankfully, I was at the event with my BF, fellow friend & contestant Mei Xian along with Carol & of course Nadia (the one whose event this is). That made everything all better & all the more fun!

Chilling out with good friends & newly made friends! :)
Quick Q&A session with the gorgeous Angela Hovi (host of the event).

For my casting questions, Nadia (owner of Liquido Malaysia) really threw a couple of rather tough questions at me & had me thinking very quickly on my feet!

Working with the photographer Andy Kho was pretty nerve wrecking as well, as he's such a well known & well established photographer that you just don't wanna do anything to disappoint! Also, when I asked him what kinda look/feel/direction he wanted to go for during my photo shoot, he just replied oh-so-casually, 'just show me what you got'. :/
I felt I could have done slightly better at both my Q&A & photo shoot, but what's done is done & the photo shoot results are at the end of the post! :)

Bitch mode on! Hahahaha Nah, just checking out the competitions' photo shoot. :)

All in all, I must say it was a truly interesting and eye opening experience! :)

Right now, I would just like to have a teeny tiny request & would really appreciate some support, as to get in to the Top 12 Finalist, I would need all of your help! Every little bit of support counts, so don't think you can't make a difference, because YOU CAN! :)

All you guys have to do is click on the image below & LIKE the photo. That's all! :)
Super simple & I hope you guys can support me through out my journey & help me get into the Finals which will be held at The Pool, Jalan Ampang on 23rd November 2013!

If you would like to check out my full profile and find out a little more about me, the image below will take you to it. :)

Thank you so much for reading & I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Will do an update on how I am progressing in the competition in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for it! :)

If you'd like to see me in the Finals & find out more about how I fared, don't forget to 'Hit Up This Link' & hit the LIKE button! Get all your friends/family/pets/enemies/frenemies/nemesis's & just about anyone else to LIKE it as well. :)

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has already supported me & to everyone else who will. :) Love you guys!

Till next time,

Bazaar: Fun Day out at #ChurpOut2013

By Wei Ni (Guest Blogger)

On a fine, not particularly sunny Saturday morning, I packed up all my stuff & brought it to ChurpOut2013 at Setia City Park, Setia Alam in Shah Alam! Phew! A tad further than I would normally go for bazaars, but as I have never been there before & it looked pretty well organised I decided to give it a go! :)

Beanbags all around for everyone to flop on!
That's a reverse bungee in the back, and they were giving it out for FREE! Happy to say I managed to give it a go, despite being one of the last few of the day! :)

I arrived there bright and early in the morning, finally finished setting up just before 11am and managed to relax a little before the crowd arrived.

Check out my first Instavideo I made in the morning before it got busy! :)
Totally kicked off my shoes & put them out to sun as they were soggy from the morning. Went barefoot most of the day!
I'm on Instagram, so follow me @peepboutique if you haven't already!

My humble little booth space. :) All those lucky ones who came managed to grab their favourite pieces at prices as low as RM10! :)

They not only had online fashion retailers setting up stalls, there were also stalls set up by your favourite fashion bloggers! Fashionistas such as Audrey from FourFeetNine, Cheeserland, BoboStephanie & many others were there to sell you all their pre-loved/practically-brand-new clothes!

Turned out to be a pretty beautiful Saturday morning! :)

Some of the food stalls that were there included Tedboy Bakery (tasty, wholesome buns!), Homemade Beverage (much needed ice-cold sweet somethin'!), Niko Niko (yum yum onigiri!) & KyoChon (super tasty Korean fried chicken!).

There were also appearances by famous local Youtubers. Two of which are seen here with my sister Lulu! :)
Reuben Kang of JinnyboyTV. | Dan Khoo from DanKhoo Productions.

Giant bubbles everywhere for everyone to play with!

There were an assortments of games, free kite flying, free giant bubbles playing & all sorts of fun free stuff! It really was a great outdoors, relaxed Saturday event! Fun, food, shopping & adrenaline! What more could you ask for! :)

They were even giving out free comic drawings of you to be made into square little figurines! :)

For all you adrenaline junkies, they were giving out free reverse bungee rides! Later in the afternoon, when the rain had stopped, ChurpOut actually got quite a few of their Alphas there to embrace the Reverse Bungee! Some notable names were, Linora Low (who was the last to go & the most terrified! Who also happened to be the wonderful host that day!), Chelsia Ng (this lightweight kicked off her hand-drawn Star Wars sneakers & did a somersault!), Jeremy Teo, Dennis Yin, Redmummy, Aida Sue, Reuben Kang & Dan Khoo (the last 2 we have videos of! Check it out below!)

Here we have of Reuben who insisted on keeping his hat on & holding on to his phone!

Dan Khoo just being a total Khool Khat about it. ;)

It was most definitely a fun-filled activity though! Would have been much better had there not been rain, but oh well... Guess they'll have to bring in more 'bomohs' next time to ward off the rain. ;)

Managed to snag a few bags of FREE fried chicken from KyoChon as they were giving them out towards the end of the day! Whooopppeeee! More freebies! :)

For those who registered for the goodie bag, there were a couple of snacks from Mamee & Mister Potato as well as discount vouchers from the likes of McDonalds, The Strip, StreetFashionKL.com & a couple of others. :)

And finally at 8pm, we closed up shop and called it a day! :)
Goodnight & goodbye Peeps! :)

We look forward to seeing you at the next ChurpOut! :)

Till next time,
Wei Ni out! ;)

Modbox October

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

Compact, fuss-free and economical.
These are the 3 words I can perfectly describe my October Modbox.
Filled to the brim, minimal la-la-la decorative paper and for RM9.00 only. ;)
Isn't that straight to the point enough? Just like how I expect those officers at work to go straight to the point when presenting their sales pitch. =P

My October pick

For the October sample selection, there's a total of 7 items for selection. You are to pick 3 for your box at RM9.00. Besides Ronasutra which is a brought-forward item from the previous month, all other brands are newly introduced ones. I actually don't mind if there's a repeat of Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation and Powder because it's such a great product that if you have gotten a wrong shade for the first time, you can try to get the right shade for the next box. ;)

I just realized that for products that come in different scents or shades, you are able to choose your desired one via the scroll down tab provided. By doing so, you are sure to get what you want and not a random scent or shade that is not of your liking. ;)
Pick your scents or shades here!

So let's see what's my pick for this edition. :)

The highly raved about Dermedex that I see every other beauty bloggers crooning about. :)
I only managed to try out the cleanser which is a non-foamy, herbs-scented based cleanser. It is also minty and leave the skin feeling cleansed and supple (seriously!) despite the non-foamy base.

The cleanser in the old-school tube. =)

It promises a clearer skin in just 3 days. You up for it?

Since I am trying out the Dermedex Cleanser, I though I might as well finish it up with the Murad Resurgence Hydrating Toner as part of the cleanse and tone facial regime. =D
If my sense of smells is not extraordinarily off the radar, this one gives a slight fruity element without being too sweet. Just a mild fruity elements, like a concoction of papaya and the sort.
The 15ml bottle that you get in Modbox is sufficient enough for you to try for more than a week to see if this is going to be your next favourite toner. Contained in a spray bottle, this is brilliant for girls on-the-go for that spritz of hydration whenever there is a need to freshen up. The product uses the Murad's formula under the Science of Cellular Water (TM), Murad’s proprietary system for optimising cell hydration and skin health. I feel hydrated already!

I give this a 5 star for hydration and convenient packaging!

Fans of body moisturiser, here's another interesting range for you to try out! For the Modbox edition, it comes in a set of 3 - the Kneipp Body Range.
There's Kneipp Almond Blossom  Body Lotion, Eucalyptus Herbal Bath and Lavender Body Oil. For you sachet haters, sorry to inform but all of this comes in sachet. It's still an interesting discovery though.
A must try!

I love oil! For no particular reason. I always assumed that body oil have much more benefits and can provide longer lasting hydration compared to lotion since it's oily and thereafter sticky. =P
As the Lavender Body Oil comes in a sachet which is pretty hard to try out, and yet I don't want to waste a single drip, I poured it all into a contact lens bottle, haha! 8ml of pure lavender oil!
The oil absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy stain after. Great to apply before bunking in to sleep for that soothing and calming effect from the mild lavender scent while getting your skin hydrated.

8ml of good oil!

A solution to those who faces hair-fall issues. The Human Nature range of Strengthening Shampoo with Cream Foam claim to be able strengthen hair to reduce breakage and hair fall by an astounding 80%. I got one in Aloe and it smells like a concoction of Aloe, cucumber and all things vegan! =D
The 50ml trial bottle would most probably last you 3-5 washes depending on your hair length. Since I have just gotten my dip-dye colored hair, won't be using this as yet. Am working towards all sorts of shampoo that can extend the period of my hair colour for now. =P

Derived from 96% of natural ingredients!

The last product to introduce is the Lavera Hand Cream - a certified, natural vegan-friendly hand cream! As more and more people are going against cruelty to animals, this is definitely something that you can use without qualms. Made without animal based ingredients and not tested on animals itself, it contains organic almond and shea butter. Since this is almost pure organic, do not expect any form of chemically infused fruity or sweet 'scentsation'. It's all in natural form, remember? ;)
Main ingredients among which are water (hence you need to shake well before use), shea butter and soybean. Works great to nourish those cracked heels and elbows.

Any of the items above have pique your interest? Well, for RM9.00 only not inclusive of delivery, the Modbox is definitely worthy to try out. What have you got to lose but to get a box full of skincare to try out or even to giveaway if it doesn't suit you.
Being on a budget and need to get some gifts for friends? You know what... This is a great gifting idea too, you know! ;)

Halloweening the Monster Way!

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

By now, I am sure most of you still do not understand why am I so fascinated with these ghouls from Monster High. And by now I actually am hoping to grow my collection each time there is a new release of collection!

Welcome to my wonderful land of monsterinas!
My colleagues shrieks every time they spotted these scary-looking cute dolls in my laptop bag. Friends make disgusted faces when they spotted a doll in the car. Yes. They almost have no clue why is an adult working professional getting so obsessed with some scary looking dolls. ( I blame this on a lonely childhood sometimes). Sometimes I have no clue too! But looking at these dolls reminds me just how fashionably confident they are in their own appearance and the boldness in character that sometimes it helps to give me a boost of spirit!

Sometimes I tag them along too! (extreme diva!)

Playtime with my sistas! Must keep back after each play session =P

A session of Monster High cartoon in between work from home with my portable projector ;)

So you may wonder just how do you judge a doll to be bold and confident? These Monster High dolls are most probably the trendiest toys I have spotted in Toys R Us. Spotting the latest dip dye hair each and with apparels custom based on their character, each of the dolls carries a certain personality of their own.
Familiar names like Draculaura, Frankie Stein, Spektra Vondergeist, Rochelle Goyle, Ghoulia Yelps, Clawdeen Wolf are some of the core / basic dolls you can always see in the Monster High series. Interestingly, if you follow them long enough, you tend to get excited when they have new ghouls in town to be introduced into the line of their already fanciful characters. I can't wait to get Catty Noir soon!

Here's my small but growing collection =P

Coming Halloween, these dolls makes great inspiration if you are running out of ideas on what to dress up as or makeover as =D

See Skelita, and see my friend Joanna, LOL! Those stitched lips of Skelita is so cool!

If being mainstream is not your cuppa, then the Create-a-Monster set would definitely fit your thirst for being edgy and wanting to be different ;)
You start with a basic starter pack that comes with 2 skeletal frames :)
Priced from RM99.90, these starter packs consist of 2 characters with limbs separated and accessories for you to mix and match.

The CAM (create-a-monster) set in few variations

My first CAM set consisting of the Ice and Blob Girl

It's pretty awesome to have to 'build' them up and seeing it transformed to a whole figure :)
You can mix and match the limbs and come up with multiple combos that you can think off

The Werewolf and Dragon set!

"I can't decide if I want a pink or a blue leg!"

"Gimme my pink head!"

"My extraordinary pink leg on my blue body. Cool much?"

With the ghouls from the Werewolf and Dragon set ;)

If you frequent the Monster High console in Toys R Us very often, you will also notice these smaller packaging called  Add-On-Pack. These are to be used as complimenting accessories for your CAM sets. It comes with a head and limbs, but without the body. A must-have and my most favourite item in each of the Monster High sets are their wigs! Pretty wigs with colorful streaks! You can swap and mix and match each of the parts to create your own monster till you go crazy!

The entire CAM range are great gifting ideas of you are searching for gifts for Halloween or even X'mas!
Scarify your nieces and nephews or even your toy collectors' friends with the awesome line up of monsters!
