Exclusive: Heart Attack Sale!

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

That's right, you read it here first! There's nothing to brighten up the middle of the week like a semi-exclusive deal for YSK's beloved readers - and this time, it's 50% discount for 200 items on Ladies Fashion!

When I got the news from the owner of Ladies Fashion, I immediately clicked on the links to the great bargain that she is extending exclusively to the readers of YSK. Seriously, when will you be able to get a decent dress for a mere RM15 or a maxi for RM25? A new piece some more!!!

Basic dress - Was RM22, Now RM11

Floral tube dress - Was RM25, Now RM12.50

Maxi Dress - Was RM53, Now RM26.50
Cardigan - Was RM39, Now RM 19.50
Busy Printed Top - Was RM32, Now RM16
Printed maxi dress - Was RM39, Now RM19.50

Did you do the maths to the above bargain? YES!! It's a whooping 50% for an entire collection of already reasonably cheap tops and dresses and skirts and all!!

All you have to do to be entitled to the sale is to choose a minimum of 2 items, though I think most of us would have at least 4 items (because it's so cheap you can start shopping for birthday and Christmas or even Raya gift to girlfriends!) in your order and give a shout out in your e-mail:

" I AM A YSK READER

AND SHALL GET 50% OFF MY FABULOUS SALES! "

OK, maybe that's a bit fanatic. Simply mention that you are a YSK reader and you will be entitled to the sales! =D Spread around to your friends, even if they are non-YSK readers. They can pretend to be =D

Visit Ladies Fashion to start browsing the 200 items on sale now!

Product Review: Handmade Clay Trinkets

By Cynthia Lee  (Guest Blogger)

If you have seen one of my previous reviews on handmade classes available in The HandMade Movement, you would most probably have come across the handmade clay craft site by TinyPinc and her collection of food that is so delicious but most probably you may get poisoned if consumed - as it is made of clay, and not butter and flour! =D

The visionary owner of  TinyPinc - Ling ;)

TinyPinc specialises in creating super cute and yummy looking miniature food clay craft - not something easy for clumsy hands ;)
mouth watering confectionery with such amazing details!

so convincingly real, don't you think so?

Now you may think what can you possibly do with all these pretty looking but cannot be savoured food!? Check out her Facebook Page and be amazed! It's great as novelty gifts to friends for every occasion. TinyPinc also accept made-to-order pieces.

I was lucky enough to be among those very first ones to get hold of TinyPinc's latest item out from the baking oven- a kitty phone plug for review ;). Those kitty plugs seems like a rave among the online community with some sites offering pre-order spree. Now you can get it immediately from TinyPinc as she 'hand-moulded' these kittehs at the comfort of her study table =D

spot my kitteh!

cute phone plugs priced at a very affordable RM15 a piece

With a reasonable price for handmade items and saving the hassle and wait of pre-ordering, these make great gifts or merely for personal collection  And of course, she doesn't just do kitteh :) There is literally a myriad of stuff she can bake out of those clay blocks!

You can literally opt for a croissant, a cookie or even a slice of cake
to be made into a phone plug or a pair of earring, as charm pendants, brooch
or simply anything that you fancy!

ok, maybe a croissant nose-stud is NOT too appropriate ;) but it sure is fun!

Ga ga, ooh la la, want your Rarablack!

By Cynthia (Guest Blogger)

If you're an ardent fan of online shopping, you would most probably know Rarablack way back since 2009 when they were a humble little blogshop with exclusively designed buntings whenever they are spotted in bazaars. They were previously known for their exquisite sense in showcasing some of the prettiest cocktails and party dresses in their collections. For those of you who have been following them you most probably have evolved with them. For those of you who are still new to the world of online shopping, meet Rarablack - your one stop shopping portal to "Dress to Impress"!

Inspired by the convenience of easy navigation of sites such as Asos.com and Net-a-Porter, Rarablack houses a variation of collections from local designers, both established and newcomers. A firm believer of nurturing local talents, they believe the portal can serve as an initial platform for talented designers who may not have the resources to showcase their collection for the ever growing online fashion market.

Despite being a platform that houses various designers of different genres, Rarablack still holds on to its core concept to ensure that it houses a good showcase of LBDs (your little black dresses), party dresses, high street wear, and the under-RM100 cheap'n'chic collection for the cost conscious shoppers.

Rarablack is known for their exquisite taste in housing sexy party dresses.

If attending social events is your second job in life, Rarablack could well be your best friend when shopping for party dresses. Most of the dresses in each designer's collection comes in limited quantity per sizes. That means you would have a lower chances of bumping into another person who wears the same dresses. We call that semi exclusive! =)

Rarablack also houses these brands exclusively online: Dressing Paula, Kheng Yu Shoes, Luxe, Couture Chics, Corset Me and Lovely Legs.

I will be highlighting a few series that I particularly like out of the many tempting pieces ;)

Corset Me is most probably my favourite! Every woman should own a corset for the sillhoutte-enhancing effect that only a good corset can provide. Priced at RM85 per piece, these intricate corsets are great pieces to mix and match with different bottoms to suit different occassions.

Gorgeous body flattering corset collection from Corset Me.

For those of you who are blessed with slender figures, the Couturechics welcomes you with a sleek and sensual selection of body fitting dresses. Available in various classy shades and cuts, perfect outfit for those party nights. On a happy note, I realized some of the dresses in this collection comes up to size UK14!! Happy news for us far-than-petite girls!

If you have a body to flaunt, Couture Chics is most probably is most visited collection

If you are not a party goer but dedicate most of your time in the office, why not do it in style? As a trendy working executive, Dressing Paula is a must for the working professionals. I am not sure about other working professionals, but as a Business Development Manager, wearing trendy yet functional dresses does wonders in making others pay attention to you! =D But of course, Dressing Paula also caters to your semi casual day out in 'safe mode'. Think capris, cat sleeve blouses and such.

Some of the items that I would wear to work. How about you? =D

Some other brands that are noteworthy to check out on in Rarablack ;

Seriously need to be the only Diva at the prom? Splurge on Diva Darling and
get all the attention you want with their elegantly designed dresses

From diva to street fashionista, strut the street in these bold leggings from Lovely Legs!

What's fashion without the perfect pair of shoes to go with it. Rarablack currently houses these gorgeous footwear collections from Christy Ng and Kheng Yu, your local shoes experts. From heels to wedges and also flats, they boast a selection that will make you go wild!
Gorgeous shoes from Christy Ng's Collection - a must for those important events in life!

If comfort is your priority, Kheng Yu's finely crafted shoes collection is most probably the safest bet. Available in moderate heels' height, a perfect piece for those who wants to stand tall and stand long at work or events! ;)

With a growing market in the online shopping, an all-in-one portal is definitely THE PLACE to go for ease of shopping. Information on each item is clearly indicated and there are clear pictures of the items modeled, which makes online shopping more pleasant and simulate the real-life shopping experience better.

Rarablack also offers a 15 Day Return Service - so don't worry if you bought something and it doesn't fit you right! :) Postage is free for all purchases within Malaysia. Worldwide delivery is also available for those of you who are abroad. Free international shipping is provided for purchases above RM450 for South East Asia and RM800 for the rest of the world.

Head on to Rarablack and start browsing! Don't forget to subscribe to their updates so that you won't miss out the bargains that they have from time to time. And soon, they will be featuring a collection of costume jewelleries and accessories from Red's Revenge and street chic ready to wear designer collecton from MAZIN.

Colour Colour On the Wall, Who's the Brightest of 'em All?

By Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

I have never liked colours before. Perhaps because I think I've yet to achieve a level of fashion sense to be able to see which colours match me. I was also previously in a working environment where we are 'encouraged' to wear black or earth colors for fear of distracting clients when we present our 'fashion collection'. Now that I am out in a different working environment where fashion is not so heavily regulated and colours are quite rare to be found anywhere... as most of them are male colleagues who have standard grey uniform (boring!) and  I'm the only female at work... I feel a sudden urge to bring some colours into my life and into my workplace!

2012 is literally a year of colors for me. Black attire is kept strictly for days when I feel fat and bloated -  hoping that they will create a slimmer silhouette. Otherwise, I am enjoying the burst of colors and attention garnered from a piece of bright hued dress :)

Asos Mesh Paneled Dress         |    Chiffon Kaftan from Quirky Brown Cow

Tulip dress form Cocktails Martini, Leopard Heels from Agape Boutique

Batik Chiffon Top with Cotton On Skirt and heels from The Fashion Barrage

Here are some happy-coloured apparel fit for a happy office environment!

Baroque print inspired collared dress from Savannah

asymetrical and colorful ensemble from Covetz

geometrical printed top with mesh from Cocktails

my favourite colours - red and blue mix and matches from MiruMiru

What will you be wearing to work for the week? =D

Product Review: Longer Eyelashes & Thicker Eyebrows

by Cynthia Lee (Guest Blogger)

When you have little lashes, no lashes or lashes so short it's almost unnoticeable, you can to turn to ARDELL to do the magic for you! Not magic in a minute but still it does wonders! ;)

I wasn't convinced at the first place when I was given this to try out. And it smells like vinegar in a tube =D But despite that not very good first time impression, I was quite impressed with this tube of 'white glue' once I started using it ;)

ARDELL Growth Accelerator in it's packaging | Mascara-like brush applicator

And it is now more than 2 months that I have been using this. On an on and off basis as I am not very consistent in my daily beauty routine =D

What Is It?
  • In my own definition, the serum is a protein base that when applied continuously (like any other beauty cream) will do its magic in helping to repair weak lashes and also perhaps adds a boost of growth to your lashes.

How to apply
  • Pretty much like how you would apply your normal mascara.
  • As much as you want your lashes to grow as fast and as long, do not overdo it by applying too generous a portion of the emulsion until it goes into your eyes =D
  • A gentle swipe on both upper and lower lashes will do.
  • Wait till it dry before you attempt to rub your eyes. Though I have accidentally rubbed my eyes while it is still wet, and nothing really happen =P
  • it is best to apply daily before you go to bed.

Results
  • As I have relatively long lashes, it is rather impossible for me to expect the lashes to grow till it drops to my nose bridge =D
  • I do notice that the lower lashes did grew slightly longer than previous and the upper lashes were thicker than before hence more volume!
My lashes before this

My lashes now: with a swipe of mascara | without mascara

My personal review:
  • The photos do not do much justice as it is really difficult to try and focus on a low resolution camera =D
  • With constant usage, the lashes too seems to be stronger and does not easily fall off when wiping off mascara.
  • As I apply make up on 6 days out of 7 days, I presumed my lashes too grew weak as it is constantly coated with chemical stuff for more than 12 hours a day. Hence it is quite a routine to see some stray strands of lash falling off.
  • Amazingly after more than 2 months of using the Lash Growth, those lashes just stay put to where it belongs!

To purchase this amazing product, head on to Supermodel's Secrets! :) It's only RM36!
