Water Cooler Stories: "Oh no, a postponed bazaar!"

I have good news and bad news.

Bad news first...

The much anticipated Chick It Out Bazaar at Plaza Kelana Jaya, with its panoramic view and freebies, has been postponed indefinitely! :( Veritas Lab will also no longer be a co-organiser for the event - the event management company will be taking over completely. Head over to the sites below for the latest scoop.

So that's one less bazaar to visit on the 9th May weekend, right? Which is bad news for bazaar-hoppers like yours truly! :(

This is where the good news comes in...

I've just received word from the A:Fair Weekend team that they're having bazaars at Soho KL every weekend starting 9th May! :D

Scroll up to my Events & Bazaar Announcements column to check full bazaar listings. :) See you at some of them? ;)

"8 Days In A Week"

There was a nursery rhyme I really loved as a child.

This is how it went:

"Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child must work for a living
But the child that's born on the Sabbath day
is fair and wise and good and gay!"

Of course, I wasn't bothered that I was born on a Wednesday (oh, woe!),
"gay" didn't mean "homosexual" to me,
and I didn't discriminate people based on the days they were born. :P

It's just a poem! :D

And anyway, I thought it would be a nice li'l prelude to share
before launching into this week's review - 8 items for all the days in a week! ;)

I had fun "shopping" for items to review -
hope you'll have as much fun checking these items out!

Let's start with...

MONDAY

Closet Craze RM28

Smileyfaced shirts!
These are to Monday blues like garlic is to vampires. :D
Today is also the last day of their opening promotion - buy more than 3 items and get a 10% discount. It sounds like a lot to buy, but check out their blogshop and it won't be hard to find 4 items to buy at all! The prices are really reasonable too.

TUESDAY

Our Mutual Passion RM55
*YSK Readers enjoy a 10% discount, so these are RM50 for you!*

Love. Love. LOVE.
I bought the pair in white. ;P
Unbelievably comfy because there's enough padding at the front.
Love.

WEDNESDAY

Clothesery RM50
*YSK Readers enjoy a 10% discount, so this is RM45 for you!*

These puffy-sleeved jackets are so cute. :)
I can totally picture it as part of a jungle-trekkin ensemble, or just a night out at the movies!

THURSDAY

Stuff R Love RM15 each

Go denim on Thursdays with a denim jacket or a denim miniskirt (with pink stitching, how adorable!) - there's nothing that "goes with everything" better than denim, after all. :D
And you can also use the denim jacket for layering over other outfits!
Both are pre-owned but never used.
So. Worth. It!

FRIDAY

My Summer Acres RM35 | RM35 | RM30

When Joy met Spring, they got married and gave birth to the blue kimono dresses above.
Fridays are the end of the working/schooling week -
so Fridays spell breezy fun for shopaholics and fashionistas out there! :D
Spell it with the dresses above already! Prices are good too.

SATURDAY
My favourite day of the week!
It's the middle of the weekend, and an entire day away from another week -
so Saturdays are all about living life to the fullest, hehe!
So live it with this gorgeous silk dress, or hit the beach with this Amazonian bikini! :D

3everlasting RM35

Just look at the tidal wave of blue hues on this beautiful dress!
Elegant, fairy-like, flowy and looks very, very comfortable. :)

Mischief Inc RM36
*YSK readers enjoy a 5% discount, so this is RM34 for you!*

Looks like something Paris Hilton would be photographed wearing. ;D
Chic bandeau tube bikini with leafy floral prints.

SUNDAY

Midnight Carnivale RM40

Very affordably pricced satin "hanky" dress! :D
I love these handkerchief dresses, they're so comfortable and cooling.
Not to mention figure-flattering!
Put it on and head over to yo
ur Sunday "midnight carnival" already!
Also available in pink and black. ;)

~ Colour up the days of your week with something fun to wear every day!~

*Psst... Do you want to win RM50 in cold, hard cash? Or a FREE booth at a bazaar?
Visit again tomorrow to find out what YSK's second and BIGGEST giveaway contest is about! We're looking for SIX winners this time round!*

You've Been Studded!

Haven't we all!

I know I sure have! ;) Ever since Sex and the City hit the silver screens with the (now-infamous) studded belt on Carrie Bradshaw's svelte waist, shopaholics and fashionistas all over the globe have been scrambling to get their hands on their own studded belts (and studded everythings!) as well. :D

So, for Your Shopping Kaki's first contest (yes, there will be many more contests coming: nearly one every month - so watch this space for freebies beyond a shopaholic's wildest dreams!), I approached The Chocolate Buttons to sponsor a studded belt for this blog! :D

And to my delight, they agreed! :D

So, congratulaaaations to ...

Suat May
Contest started: 10.00 pm
Her entry: 10.01 pm

Wow! Talk about fast! ;D And thank you to all the wonderful people who participated in the contest - you will not be forgotten! :) Your Shopping Kaki is your online shopping kaki - she'll be sure to keep things fun and full of wonderful surprises!

Also, thank you to The Chocolate Buttons for sponsoring our first exciting contest! Oooh and remember, to all YSK readers who want to purchase a studded belt from TCB, you get a 10% discount! :) That basically means your belts will cost about RM27, making that the lowest price online for these gorgeous studded belts! (correct me if I'm wrong :P)

Before we give a final curtain call to YSK's Studded Belt Giveaway Contest, here are the correct answers to the trivia questions (in case anyone wants to know! :D):

1. Rebecca Bloomwood *not Isla Fisher, like nearly half the entries said, lol*
2. Eyebrows/eyelashes/facial hair *these answers would have been accepted*
3. Cash On Delivery *every entry got this right! yay!*

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*** And now, what's Your Shopping Kaki's next contest? ***

This time sponsored by Chics Closet, famed bazaar organisers for youth and family fun, we're going to have SIX winners (one is a little too few, wouldn't you say? hehe!) -

3 lucky blogshop owners will win free booths at the Youthopia bazaar for a day,
while 3 lucky shoppers will each win RM50 in cash!

Want to find out how to join? Full details and instructions will be published on this blog, this Friday! :) *Hint: Spare some time on either Saturday or Sunday!*

Happy Shopping!
Your Shopping Kaki :)

PS: Do you have feedback on the Studded Belt contest? :) Bring on the constructive criticism (by leaving a comment below this post), because Your Shopping Kaki will be bringing you a lot more contests, and we want to keep improving! :D

Water Cooler Stories

Psst... can you keep a secret?

I've added a fun little extra blogroll on the sidebar - a list of blogshops I've personally shopped at in the past! :) I haven't bought that many goodies online (like half a dozen only, lol) so I've included the blogshops I've forked money over at bazaars as well. :D

Why?

Because then I can tell you my honest opinion about the blogshops - if you were to e-mail me and ask, that is. ;) A big part about shopping is sharing, after all!

That list basically dates as far back as July 2008, because that's when I was first introduced to this beautiful world of online shopping. :)

Aaaand it's a good way for me to make a stab at controlling my online shopping impulse purchases. :P

On other news - I spent my Saturday at the Monash Music Festival a.k.a. Monash Retail Therapy Bazaar, and despite the hot hot weather and the misunderstandings that seem to have popped up between the co-organisers (Monash Student Association's subcomittee & Chics Closet), my "shopping kaki"s and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. :D

Shopping + Music + Good friends = Fun!

Finally - don't miss the Studded Belt Giveaway Contest tomorrow night, at exactly 10pm! Head over to this blog entry for instructions now. :) Good luck, and be excited!

"8 Letters in P-r-e-l-o-v-e-d"

Remember when we were in primary school,
the teachers would make us write essays on how wonderful recycling is?

You know how in recent years,
the whole world has been engrossed in the "go green" campaign -

And even more recently,
the global economic downturn has nudged us a li'l further down the
"Save, Don't Waste" path?

It's only timely that our online shopping experience gives more of a chance
to preloved goodies as well, no? :)

Pre-loved? Re-love!

Got Some Stuff RM40

Brand new dress, originally from The Hey Hey Hey.
The cut is really pretty, and could go very well with your studded belts! :D
*Psst... speaking of studs, Got Some Stuff is also take a pre-order for studs*

Visit this site again this week for the full information :D
The winner wins a free studded belt from The Chocolate Buttons - custom-made for her!

Edward Effing Cullen RM29

Take a look at at the gorgeous rose detailing -
and how good the model looks with that denim jacket over it.

This impressive collection is going cheap!
Why not share the RL Stine joy (or horrors!) with your younger siblings or cousins? ;)

Tangerine Loft RM22

Checkered and polka dotted vintage dresses, going for RM22 only!
Tangerine Loft is infamous for its affordable prices. :)
Vintage is making a huge comeback, after all. :D

that Your Shopping Kaki will be doing soon!

Pretty Clothes To Go
Originally from: Se.xx.y RM39 | Ablinc RM64

Both dresses were so gorgeous, I couldn't decide which one to review...
So as you can see, I opted for both :D
Lovely, lovely shade of purple in the tube dress.
And that full-length maxi dress (full-length only for those under 165cm in height)
is perfect for formal dinner events. :)

How Lurvely! RM30

Am lovin' this quirky vest!
All the way from Kazakhstan, worn twice in good condition.
The embroidery is so unique, it reminds me of pineapples and fires and birds of paradise. <3>

Envy, Crave, Need RM60

Ooh, this Guess Jeans embroidered summer dress is quite the eye candy!
Brand new and bought in the U.S. of A, material a cross between cotton and linen,
this purchase looks worth its price tag. :)

Impulse Grabber RM29

Slight pussybow ruffles at the collar, this black formal blouse is going at an awesome price!
It's brand new (with tag) from Little McQueen -
but it's only going to be RM29 until tomorrow (Friday)!
So if you like it, grab it before it goes back to its RM45 price again. :D
